GB/T 46007-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering propagating ornamental plants by grafting rather than from seed — the nursery site and its establishment, the cultivation of the rootstock and its preparation, the scion and the choice between scion grafting and bud grafting, the operation itself, the management after grafting until the union takes, the lifting of the finished plants, and the records that let a batch be traced back to its parent. First edition, under the National Forestry and Grassland Administration. In force from 1 November 2025. Issued on 1 August 2025, it has been in force since 1 November 2025.

Technical regulations for flower grafting propagation

1 Scope

This document establishes the technical procedures for flower grafting propagation, and stipulates the establishment of nursery grounds, stock cultivation, stock preparation, scion preparation, grafting, It also describes the requirements for post-production management and field release, and traceability methods such as file management.

This document is applicable to the propagation of grafted flower seedlings.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 flower ornamental plant

A general term for plants with ornamental value, whose ornamental value is manifested in organs or appendages such as roots, stems, leaves, flowers, and fruits, as well as their posture, shape, Color and seasonal changes. [Source. LY/T 3366-2024, 3.1]

3.2 rootstock

The root, stem, or plant used to bear the scion.

3.3 scion

A bud or stem segment with a desired trait grafted onto a rootstock.

Note. The scion used for grafting has a root system.

3.4 sciongrafting

A grafting method using a branch with buds as the scion.

3.5 budgrafting

A grafting method using plant buds or buds with a little wood as scions.
