Scope
GB/T 45751-2025 is the English-translated version of 增材制造 工艺分类和编码.
GB/T 45751-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering putting a name and a number on each additive process — the classification elements that tell one process from another, the classification method and the hierarchical, faceted and mixed schemes it draws on, the coding principles and the way the code is put together, and the worked coding library in the annex that shows what a finished code looks like. First edition, with the powder bed fusion surface standard GB/T 45675-2025. Under the China Machinery Industry Federation. In force from 1 December 2025. Issued on 30 May 2025, it has been in force since 1 December 2025.

3 Terms and definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 10113-2003 and GB/T 35351 and the following apply to this document.
3.1 Coding
The process of assigning a code to an object or concept.
[Source. GB/T 10113-2003, 2.2.1]
3.2
Each component in the code of the classification object.
3.3 [Source. GB/T 10113-2003, 2.1.5, modified]
The classification objects are divided into several levels according to several selected attributes (or characteristics), and each level is divided into several categories.
Note. Categories at the same level in the same branch form a parallel relationship, while categories at different levels form a subordinate relationship.
3.4 [Source. GB/T 10113-2003, 2.1.6]
Select several attributes (or features) of the classification object, and divide the classification object into a group of independent categories according to each attribute (or feature).
Group categories to form a "surface". Then arrange the "surfaces" in parallel in a certain order. When using, place the corresponding categories in the relevant "surface" as needed.
Group them together in the specified order of "faces" to form a new composite category.
3.5 [Source. GB/T 10113-2003, 2.1.7]
An information classification method that combines line classification and surface classification, with one of the classification methods as the main one and the other as a supplement.
