Scope

GB/T 45588-2025 is the English-translated version of 玉米矮花叶病毒检疫鉴定方法.

GB/T 45588-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering finding maize dwarf mosaic virus in maize seed and plant tissue — the taxonomic placement and the background information in the annex, the quarantine sampling, the serological detection, the molecular RT-PCR detection, the reagents and equipment the laboratory needs, and the combination of results that decides the identification, since a mosaic symptom on its own does not separate this virus from the others that mottle maize. First edition, in force from 1 November 2025. Issued on 25 April 2025, it has been in force since 1 November 2025.
