Scope
GB/T 45480-2025 is the English-translated version of 锰矿石和锰精矿 铝含量的测定 光度法和重量法.
GB/T 45480-2025 is a Chinese national standard for determining the aluminium content of manganese ores and concentrates. It sets out two analytical routes: a photometric method, presented as Method A, and a gravimetric method.
The photometric method covers mass fractions from 0.1% to 1.5%, while the gravimetric method is intended for contents above 1.5%. The document applies to both manganese ore and manganese concentrate.
It is modified to adopt ISO 4295:1988 and refers to several GB/T methods, including GB/T 6379.2 and GB/T 8170, as well as the verification regulations JJG 119 and JJG 178. Issued on 28 March 2025 and applicable from 1 October 2025.

4 Method A Photometric method
4.1 Principle
The sample was decomposed with hydrochloric acid and nitric acid, then dissolved with hydrochloric acid, and the solution was evaporated to dryness twice.
The insoluble residue was separated by filtration, the filter paper containing the residue was burned, and the residue was treated with sulfuric acid and hydrofluoric acid.
The melt is dissolved in hydrochloric acid and the resulting solution is combined with the main solution.
