Scope

GB/T 45413-2025 is the English-translated version of 供水管网水锤监测系统通用技术要求.

GB/T 45413-2025 is the Chinese national standard for the systems that monitor water hammer in a water supply network. It sets the requirements for such a system and describes the test methods.

It defines the hydraulic unit, any component of the network - tank, pump, pipe, check valve, pressure relief valve, water hammer prevention valve, air valve, control valve or surge tower - along with water hammer and the monitoring terminal that reads the pressure sensors, identifies the peak and frequency of the surge and forwards the characteristic curve.

The system collects, records, analyses and judges that information, raises warnings and uploads it. It applies to pressurized systems: urban and building water supply and drainage, water diversion, industrial supply and drainage, mine drainage and agricultural irrigation. It was issued on 25 April 2025 and has applied since 25 April 2025.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Hydraulic unit

A single hydraulic component that makes up the water supply network system.

Note: Includes water tank, pump, pipe, check valve, pressure relief valve, water hammer prevention valve, air valve, control valve, air tank, pressure regulating tower, etc.

3.2 Water hammer

The water flow rate in the water supply network changes suddenly, causing a sharp change in pressure.

Note: Also called water hammer.

3.3 Water hammer monitoring system

Record the evolution of water hammer, analyze and verify the water hammer calculation results and water hammer protection effect, evaluate the water hammer risk of water supply network, and have the ability to supply water hammer.

A system with functions of collecting, recording, analyzing, judging, warning and uploading water hammer risk information in water pipe networks.

3.4 Water hammer monitoring terminal

In the water hammer monitoring system, it is used to receive pressure sensor signals, perform data conversion, identify the peak value and frequency of water hammer in the water supply network, and provide records and terminal units that forward key data of water hammer characteristic curves.
