1 Scope

GB/T 45267-2025 is the Chinese standard for children's swimming accessories: the neck rings, arm bands, seats, floats and swim trainers used with infants and young children in pools and baths. The category exists in a gap: these are not lifesaving equipment and they are not toys, and the danger is precisely that a parent may treat them as the first. The standard sets the classification, the general requirements on materials and their harmlessness, the structural and performance requirements including buoyancy and its retention, the resistance of the inflation valve and of the seams, the stability of the product in use, the requirements on cords, gaps and entrapment, the mandatory warnings that state the product does not protect against drowning and that adult supervision is required, and the corresponding test methods and inspection rules. For a manufacturer or an importer selling infant swimming products into China, this is the text a product is accepted against.

This document specifies the general technical requirements for children's plastic swimming caps, goggles, nose clips and earplugs, and describes the corresponding test methods. This document applies to plastic swimming caps, goggles, nose clips and earplugs worn by children aged 6 and above and under 14 years old when swimming. This document does not include the requirements and test methods for the optical performance, anti-fog performance, and anti-leakage performance of children's plastic swimming goggles. This document is not applicable For children's swimming goggles with corrective lenses.
