Scope

GB/T 45249.1-2025 is the English-translated version of 证券期货业与银行间业务数据交换协议 第1部分:三方存管、银期转账和结售汇业务.

GB/T 45249.1-2025 is the data exchange protocol between the Chinese securities and futures industry and the banks. It is the specification behind an arrangement every retail investor in China deals with without knowing it: client money is not held by the broker but by a bank under the third-party depository system, so opening an account, moving money into the market and taking it out again are all transactions between two institutions rather than one. This part specifies those transactions. Clause 4 analyses the processes: session synchronisation, sign-on and sign-off, account contracting and pre-contracting initiated from either side, termination, currency code registration, amendment of the account information and of its status, information and balance enquiries from either side, and the bank-to-securities and securities-to-bank transfers in both directions. Clause 5 then gives the message formats that carry each of them. For a broker, a bank, a futures company or a vendor building the interface between them in China, this is the protocol the connection is written to.
