Scope

GB/T 45211.6-2025 is the English-translated version of 小麦抗病虫性评价技术规程 第6部分:黄矮病.

GB/T 45211.6-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering rating a wheat line against barley yellow dwarf — the inoculum and the inoculation, the identification nursery, the survey of the yellowed leaves, the stunted plants and the reduced tillering that the virus causes, the severity rating scale, the resistance evaluation, and the verification, with the strains kept separate because isolates that are serologically related still differ in what they do to a given variety. Part 6 of the series, first edition, under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. In force from 1 August 2025. Issued on 24 January 2025, it has been in force since 1 August 2025.

Introduction

GB/T 45211 "Technical Procedures for Evaluation of Wheat Disease and Insect Resistance" aims to standardize the technical methods, operating procedures and identification of wheat disease and insect resistance.

Evaluation principles provide standardized technical methods for breeding material screening, hybrid offspring selection, disease resistance gene discovery and variety evaluation and approval.

The method plays an important role in guiding and promoting disease-resistant breeding, variety layout and plant quarantine of wheat in China.

GB/T 45211 is divided into the following 8 parts.

— Part 1: Stripe rust;

— Part 2: Leaf rust;

— Part 3: Stem rust;

— Part 4: Fusarium fusarium;

— Part 5: Sheath blight;

— Part 6: Yellow dwarf disease;

— Part 7: Aphids;

— Part 8: Midges.

Technical regulations for evaluating wheat disease and insect resistance Part 6: Yellow dwarf disease

1 Scope

This document defines the terms and definitions of wheat yellow dwarf disease resistance evaluation technology, establishes the evaluation procedures, and specifies the inoculum preparation, identification The contents of setting, disease investigation, resistance evaluation, etc. are described, and the verification method is described.

This document applies to the field identification and evaluation of resistance to yellow dwarf disease in wheat plants.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1

Symptoms include yellowing leaves, dwarfing of plants, and reduced tillering.

3.2 disease resistance

A heritable trait in plants that can reduce or overcome the pathogenic effects of pathogens.

3.3 Pathogenicity

The ability of pathogens to interfere with host growth and cause disease.

3.4

The process of placing the inoculum into the diseased part of the plant through artificial operation under suitable conditions and causing it to become diseased.

3.5

A description of the degree of response and level of resistance of a plant host to a specific disease, as determined by the adopted technical criteria.

3.6 strain

Serologically related isolates of the same virus obtained from different diseased plants show different pathogenicity to different varieties.

3.7 Inoculum

A pathogen that can infect a host and cause disease.

3.8 Severity rating diseaserating scale

Artificially quantified numerical description of the degree of disease in individual plants or groups.
