Scope

GB/T 45103-2024 is the English-translated version of 肉鸭营养需要量.

GB/T 45103-2024 sets the nutrient requirements of meat-type ducks in China. China produces the overwhelming majority of the world's ducks, and the numbers in this document are what every commercial duck ration in the country is formulated against: the requirements for metabolisable energy, crude protein and the individual amino acids, the macro and trace minerals and the vitamins, given by duck type and by age or production stage. It covers the Pekin duck, the Muscovy and the dual-purpose types separately, because they differ enough in growth rate and body composition that one set of figures will not serve. Clause 7 and the informative annex then give what a nutritionist needs to turn those requirements into a feed: the list of ingredients commonly used, their composition and nutritive value, the characteristics and energy values of the oils and fats, the crude protein equivalent, amino acid content and energy value of the amino acid additives, and the mineral element content of the macro-mineral feeds. For a feed company, an integrator or a nutritionist working in China, this is the reference.

For a feed company, an integrator or a nutritionist working in China, this is the reference.

This document specifies the nutrient requirements for Pekin ducks, their complementary strains, Muscovy ducks and dual-purpose ducks. This document is applicable to the formulation of meat duck feed in feed production enterprises and various types of farms (households). The formulation of feed for semi-Muscovy ducks shall refer to that for Muscovy ducks.
