Foreword
This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1: Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting.
This document is modified to adopt ISO/IEC/IEEE8802-1BR.2016 "Local Area Telecommunications and Information Exchange between Information Technology Systems Specific requirements for LANs and metropolitan area networks Part 1BR. Virtual Bridged Local Area Network Bridge Port Extensions.
Compared with ISO/IEC/IEEE8802-1BR.2016, this document has the following structural adjustments.
--- Deleted the 9.9.8.1 clause in ISO/IEC/IEEE8802-1BR.2016, which only had one clause;
--- This document adds 6.9, 6.10, 6.11, 6.11.6, 6.12, 6.14, 7.5, 9.2, 9.2.1, the suspension sections under 9.6.3 and 10.2 are numbered, and the subsequent numbers are extended accordingly;
--- The numbers of figures and tables in ISO/IEC/IEEE8802-1BR.2016 are arranged in sequence by chapter. This document is revised to sequential numbering;
---6.2~6.17 correspond to 6.1~6.16 in ISO/IEC/IEEE8802-1BR.2016, and 6.1 is added;
---8.2~8.13 correspond to 8.1~8.12 in ISO/IEC/IEEE8802-1BR.2016, and 8.1 is added;
---10.2~10.3 correspond to 10.1~10.2 in ISO/IEC/IEEE8802-1BR.2016, and 10.1 is added;
---11.2~11.5 correspond to 11.1~10.4 in ISO/IEC/IEEE8802-1BR.2016, and 11.1 is added;
---6.7 corresponds to 6.7 and 6.7.1 in ISO/IEC/IEEE8802-1BR.2016;
---B.2.2~B.2.4 correspond to Appendix B.2.1~B.2.3 of ISO/IEC/IEEE8802-1BR.2016, and add B.2.1;
---D.3 corresponds to D.3 and D.3.1 in ISO/IEC/IEEE8802-1BR.2016;
--- Deleted the chapter number of Appendix C.1 in ISO/IEC/IEEE8802-1BR.2016.
The technical differences between this document and ISO/IEC/IEEE8802-1BR.2016 and their reasons are as follows.
--- Deleted the port extender control and status agent in the terminology to comply with the requirements of GB/T 1.1-2020;
--- Deleted BPDU, EISS, MRP, MS, and PID from the abbreviations to comply with the requirements of GB/T 1.1-2020;
--- Replaced ISO/IEC/IEEE8802-1AB.2017 (see 5.3, 5.4, 6.7, Appendix A.6) The consistency between the two documents is modified to adapt to my country's technical conditions and increase operability;
--- Replaced ISO/IEC/IEEE8802-1Q.2016 (see Chapters 5 to 11) with the normative reference GB/T 44812-2024 Chapter and Appendix A to Appendix C), the consistency between the two documents is modified to adapt to my country's technical conditions, increase operability;
---Add TLSec technology (see Chapter 11) as one of the security solutions. TLSec technology is based on a wired local area network (LAN) with a ternary peer-to-peer architecture.
Network media access control security is the security solution adopted by GB/T 15629.3, so this technical solution is added and the normative reference document GB/T 15629.3-2014 is used to adapt to my country's technical conditions and increase operability.
The following editorial changes have been made to this document.
--- To coordinate with the existing standard, the name of the standard is changed to "Virtual Bridge Local Area Network for Telecommunications and Information Exchange between Information Technology Systems" Network Bridge Port Extension.
1 Scope
This document specifies the technical requirements for extending a network bridge and its management beyond the physical entity in which it resides, including the required equipment, protocols, Processes and management objects, etc.
This document is applicable to extending the bridge on multiple physical devices, or extending the MAC service of the bridge to the virtual terminal, so that the bridge port can be expanded.
The expansion is not constrained by physical entities, which can further increase the flexibility of network connections and save network deployment costs.
