1 Scope

This document specifies the evaluation requirements, test methods, calculation methods and evaluation methods for high-efficiency grate furnaces.

This document applies to the evaluation of mechanical grate incinerators.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 grate furnace

A device that uses mechanical layered combustion to incinerate domestic waste.

3.2 primary burner

A device used to heat the furnace when starting and stopping the incinerator.

3.3 Auxiliary burner

A device used to maintain furnace temperature during operation.

3.4 furnace

A three-dimensional space for burning domestic waste, which is surrounded by the upper surface of the grate, the high-temperature flue gas outlet at the top of the first flue, and the furnace walls around the grate.

3.5 operating hours per year

High-efficiency grate furnace uptime over a one-year period. Note. The unit is hour (h).
