Scope
GB/T 42906-2023 is the English-translated version of 石墨材料 当量硼含量的测定 电感耦合等离子体原子发射光谱法.
This document describes the determination of the equivalent boron content of graphite materials by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry: the principle of the method, the instruments and equipment, the reagents and materials, the samples, the test procedure, the calculation of the result and the test report.
The document applies to the determination of the equivalent boron content contributed by twenty-five elements - lithium, boron, sodium, silicon, potassium, calcium, titanium, vanadium, chromium, manganese, iron, cobalt, nickel, copper, strontium, molybdenum, silver, cadmium, barium, samarium, europium, gadolinium, dysprosium, thorium and uranium.
Other elements, and other materials, may be measured following it as a reference.

Foreword
This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" Drafting.
1 Scope
This document describes the use of an inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometer (ICP spectrometer for short) to measure the equivalent boron content of graphite materials.
Principles of quantity, instruments and equipment, reagents and materials, samples, test procedures, result calculations and test reports.
This document applies to lithium, boron, sodium, silicon, potassium, calcium, titanium, vanadium, chromium, manganese, iron, Determination of equivalent boron content of 25 elements including cobalt, nickel, copper, strontium, molybdenum, silver, cadmium, barium, samarium, europium, gadolinium, dysprosium, thorium and uranium. other elements or other materials The measurement can be used as a reference.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Equivalent boron content; EBC
The absorption of neutrons by a given impurity element in nuclear material, expressed in terms of the amount equivalent to boron.
Note: The total equivalent boron content of the material is the sum of the equivalent boron content of each given impurity element, referred to as boron content.
3.2 Boron equivalence coefficient
The product of the relative atomic mass of boron and the thermal neutron absorption cross-section of a single impurity element is the product of the thermal neutron absorption cross-section of boron and the thermal neutron absorption cross-section of the impurity element. The ratio of the product of prime relative atomic masses.
Note 1. Abbreviated as EBC factor. Please refer to Appendix A for EBC factors of various elements.
Note 2. The EBC factor of a single impurity element is calculated according to formula (1). MBsigmai MisigmaB (1) In the formula. MB --- relative atomic mass of boron element, dimensionless;
