Product performance and inspection methods of buoyancy support systems, providing technical basis for the use and inspection of inflatable buoyancy support systems for ship immersion protection

It consists of the following two parts.

--- Part 1.Gas supply system. It can be used for installation, commissioning and inspection of gas supply system.

--- Part 2.Floating tank. It can be used in the design, manufacture and inspection of pontoon products.

1 Scope

This document specifies the general requirements, installation and start-up requirements for the air supply system of the inflatable buoyancy support system used for ship immersion protection.

Support systems provide additional buoyancy to damaged vessels and can be installed in the engine room and/or cargo hold.

This document ensures the functionality of air supply systems that use a gaseous medium (eg inert gas) to inflate buoyancy tanks of buoyancy support systems.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1

Composed of an air supply system (3.4) and an inflatable buoyancy tank, it is a system for protecting ships from flooding.

3.2

Any medium capable of diluting or displacing oxygen in the air and causing asphyxiation if inhaled.
