Scope

GB/T 42219-2022 is the English-translated version of 大功率LED的光学测量.

GB/T 42219-2022 describes how the photometric, radiometric and colour parameters of high-power LEDs are measured in the laboratory, with junction temperature as the reference temperature.

It sets the measurement conditions, beginning with measurement without aging, the measurement method at a specified junction temperature, the optical measuring equipment, the optical measurement parameters and the measurement uncertainty, and its annexes cover the temperature dependence of HP-LED parameters, extrapolation of the forward voltage to UF(0), setting the junction temperature from thermal resistance and, normatively, the spectral and angular mismatch correction factors.

It covers DC-powered single-chip and multi-chip devices including high-voltage and chip-on-board LEDs, and does not apply to AC-driven LEDs, organic LEDs, LED modules, light engines, lamps or luminaires. Issued on 30 December 2022, it has applied since 1 July 2023.

Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules for Standardization Documents" drafting.

1 Scope

This document describes the measurement methods of optical parameters such as photometric, radiometric and chromatic parameters of high-power LEDs (HP-LEDs).

This document applies to laboratory optical measurements of HP-LEDs with junction temperature as reference temperature.

This document is applicable to the optical measurement of visible light HP-LED, and the optical measurement of non-visible light LED can refer to this document.

This document applies to single-core and multi-core HP-LEDs powered by DC [such as high-voltage LEDs (HV-LEDs) and LEDs on substrates (COB LED)] optical measurement.

This document does not apply to AC driven LEDs, organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs), LED modules, LED light engines, LED lamps and Optical measurement of LED products such as LED lamps.

2 Normative references

The contents of the following documents constitute the essential provisions of this document through normative references in the text. Among them, dated references For documents, only the version corresponding to the date is applicable to this document; for undated reference documents, the latest version (including all amendments) is applicable to this document.

GB/T 5702-2019 Evaluation method for color rendering of light sources

GB/T 7922-2008 Method for measuring the color of lighting sources

GB/T 24824-2009 Test methods for LED modules for general lighting

GB/T 24826-2016 Terms and definitions of LED products and related equipment for general lighting

GB/T 39394-2020 Test methods for LED lamps, LED lamps and LED modules

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions defined in GB/T 24826-2016 and GB/T 39394-2020 apply to this document.

3.1 High-power LED

LED packages that require heat sinks or other thermal management methods to function properly.

Note: When HP-LED is working normally, it will generally be equipped with a special cooling device to ensure that the junction temperature of its PN junction will not be too high.

3.2 Temperature-control mount

Contains cooling or heater and mounting holes, the temperature can be controlled by the temperature controller.

NOTE: Thermoelectric coolers/heaters are commonly used in TCMs. In this document, TCM is used to control the junction temperature of HP-LEDs.

4 Measurement conditions

4.1 Aging

Direct measurement without aging.
