This document was drafted in accordance with the rules of GB/T 1.1-2020 Directives for Standardization - Part 1.Rules for the Structure and Drafting of Standardizing Documents.

This document serves as a replacement of GB/T 4214.3-2008 Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Test Code for Determination of Airborne Acoustical Noise - Particular Requirements for Dishwashers. In comparison with GB/T 4214.3-2008, apart from structural adjustments and editorial modifications, the main technical changes are as follows.

a) The measurement uncertainty is added (see 1.3);

b) The standard deviations of declared value and verified value are added (see 1.101);

c) The definition of place setting and service pieces is modified (see 3.102; 3.102 of Version 2008);

d) The definition of operational cycle is modified (see 3.3; 3.3 of Version 2008);

e) The standard test load for noise test (see 3.103 of Version 2008) and standard test procedures for noise test (see 3.103 of Version 2008) are deleted from the Terms and Definitions;

f) The method for the pretreatment of appliances is modified (see 6.1.3 and 6.1.4; 6.1.3 and 6.1.4 of Version 2008);

g) The supplements to the standard test load and the requirements for load placement are added (see 6.102);

h) The requirements for the operation of appliances during the test are modified (see 6.4.2; 6.4.2 of Version 2008);

i) The requirements for the standard test load and standard test procedures for noise test are added (see 6.101 and 6.102);

j) The schematic diagram of the test shell is deleted (see Figure 101 of Version 2008).

This document modifies and adopts IEC 60704-2-3.2017 Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Test Code for the Determination of Airborne Acoustical Noise - Part 2-3.

Particular Requirements for Dishwashers.

In comparison with IEC 60704-2-3.2017, the main technical differences and the causes for these differences are as follows.

a) The normative reference GB/T 4214.10-2021 is used to replace IEC 60704-3 (see 1.2 and 1.101);

b) The normative reference GB 38383-2019 is added (see 3.102 and 6.102), and the load of Chinese cutlery is introduced, so as to adapt to the practical conditions of China.

This document makes the following editorial modification.

---In order to be consistent with the existing series of standards, the title of the Standard is modified into Test Method for Noise of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances -Particular Requirements for Dishwashers.

1 Scope and Determined Quantity

Except for the following contents, this Chapter of GB/T 4214.1-2017 is applicable.

The requirements for the declared values of noise are beyond the scope of this document.

2 Normative References

The contents of the following documents constitute indispensable clauses of this document through the normative references in the text. In terms of references with a specified date, only versions with a specified date are applicable to this document. In terms of references without a specified date, the latest version (including all the modifications) is applicable to this document.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions are applicable to this documents.

This chapter of GB/T 4214.1-2017 is applicable, except for the following contents.

The operating stage, during which, the load is dried. Drying starts when the washer pump stops working after the final rinse and ends at the end of the operational cycle.

4 Measurement Method and Acoustic Environment

This chapter of GB/T 4214.1-2017 is applicable, except for the following contents.

If pure tone components are present in the noise emitted by the sound source, then, the estimated value of the standard deviation of sound pressure levels measured in a hard-walled test room or an exclusive reverberation chamber may increase.

5 Measurement Device

This chapter of GB/T 4214.1-2017 is applicable.

6 Operation and Positioning of the Device under Test

This chapter of GB/T 4214.1-2017 is applicable, except for the following contents.

Before the noise test, the appliance shall not be out of work for a long time. Otherwise, with no load or with a clean load, in accordance with the manufacturer’s reconnection instructions or the stipulations of 6.101, an additional cycle shall be operated.

7 Measurement of Sound Pressure Level

This chapter of GB/T 4214.1-2017 is applicable, except for the following contents.

If the noise of the appliance under test periodically changes, care shall be taken to avoid the impact of changes in noise radiation synchronized with the measurement process (the movement of the movable microphone and the timing of scanning the microphone location, etc.).

8 Calculation of Sound Pressure Level and Sound Power Level

This chapter of GB/T 4214.1-2017 is applicable.
