This document applies to the following situations. ---Vibration under normal steady-state operating conditions; ---Vibration during transient changes (including acceleration, deceleration, initial load, and load changes) and other (non-steady-state) operating periods; ---Vibration changes that may occur during normal steady-state operation.
This document does not apply to the following situations. i) Electromagnetic vibrations at twice the frequency located in the generator stator windings, core, and casing; i) Aero-derived gas turbines (including gas turbines with similar dynamic characteristics to aero-derived gas turbines); Note.
ISO 3977-3 defines an aviation-derived gas turbine as a gas generator for aviation propulsion, suitable for mechanical, electrical, or marine propulsion equipment.

Information.
This document provides specific guidelines for assessing the vibration of bearing housings or bases and rotating shafts in large gas turbines, steam turbines, and generators.
Measurements taken at specified locations can effectively characterize the vibration state of a machine. Evaluation criteria are also proposed based on past experience. These can be used to evaluate...
Vibration conditions of similar machines. When the bearing support and rotor mass are relatively high, a lower vibration limit for the bearing housing or base should be considered.
It is applicable.
When operating in a steady state, two criteria are provided for evaluating machine vibration. the first considers the magnitude of the observed vibration; the second...
Two methods consider changes in amplitude; additionally, different standards are specified for transient operating conditions.
The evaluation method proposed in this document is based on broadband measurement. However, due to technological advancements, narrowband measurement or spectral analysis has become more feasible.
Its use is becoming increasingly widespread, especially for vibration assessment, condition monitoring, and diagnostics. Standard specifications for this measurement are beyond the scope of this document.
