1 Scope

1.1 This document specifies the code system for carbon fiber filament yarn, which can be used as the code basis for product specifications.

1.2 This document is applicable to carbon fiber filament yarns, but not to carbon fiber products such as discontinuous fiber yarns, woven fabrics, braids, knitted fabrics, and felts.

1.3 The performance of carbon fiber filament yarn is different, and its code name is different. The performance of the code name selection includes.

a) tensile modulus of elasticity;

b) tensile strength;

c) Linear density.

1.4 The same code name of carbon fiber filament yarn does not mean that its performance is the same. This document does not provide practical information on the application and/or process

process parameters, performance parameters or process condition parameters.

1.5 Additional requirements are given in Data Section 3 (see Chapter 4) in order to specify the specific use of filament yarns or to ensure repeatability of processing.
