Scope
GB/T 41038-2021 is the English-translated version of 气流床水煤浆气化能效计算方法.
GB/T 41038-2021 gives the method for calculating the energy efficiency of entrained-flow coal-water slurry gasification. It applies to gasification units that use coal, petroleum coke, semi-coke and similar raw materials, prepared as a coal-water slurry and carried through the gasifier by the gasifying medium.
It defines the terms used in the calculation, including coal-water slurry, coal-water slurry preparation, syngas, effective syngas (the carbon monoxide and hydrogen in syngas) and recirculating cooling water, and draws on GB/T 2589 for the general principles of comprehensive energy consumption calculation and on GB 31571 for petrochemical pollutant discharge.
It supports the aim, stated in its introduction, of raising energy utilization efficiency in the coal chemical industry. It was issued on 31 December 2021 and has applied since 1 July 2022.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Coal-water slurry
A fluid with a certain particle size distribution, fluidity and stability, processed from coal, water and a small amount of additives.
Note: CWS is classified into CWS for fuel and CWS for gasification according to its purpose. [Source: GB/T 18855-2014, 3.1, with modifications]
3.2 Coal-water slurry preparation
The raw coal for chemical industry is transported to the coal mill for grinding together with water, additives, etc., to obtain a qualified coal-water slurry suitable for gasification. Process.
3.3 Entrained-flow coal-water slurry gasification
The gasification process in which the medium carries the coal-water slurry and keeps it flowing in the gasifier. [Source: GB/T 31428-2021, 5.5, with modifications]
3.4 Syngas
Feed gas or fuel gas with carbon monoxide and hydrogen as the main components. [Source: GB/T 31428-2021, 5.9]
3.5 Effective syngas
Carbon monoxide and hydrogen in syngas.
3.6 Recirculating cooling water
The heat of the medium is exchanged through the heat exchanger or the direct contact heat exchange, and the water is recycled after being cooled by the cooling tower.
