Scope
GB/T 39540-2020 is the English-translated version of 页岩气组分快速分析 激光拉曼光谱法.
GB/T 39540-2020 specifies the analytical method for determining the main chemical composition of shale gas by laser Raman spectroscopy.
Clause 1 states that it applies to the analysis of shale gas components within the range shown in Table 1 and also to the determination of one or several components of shale gas, with a note that laser Raman spectroscopy can measure a wider range of concentrations but that the reliability of results outside the range is not covered by the standard.
Clause 2 cites GB/T 5274.1 and SY/T 7433.
Clause 3 sets out the method principle, which is to follow the principle specified in SY/T 7433: the laser is fired into the gas in the sample cell, its collision with the shale gas components produces Raman scattered light, the detection module converts that light into a Raman signal, and the result is output after signal processing and the user interface, the composition and content of the sample being obtained by comparing the specific frequency and intensity of its spectrum with those of a known standard gas.
The remaining clauses, as the table of contents gives them, are Equipment, covering the laser Raman gas analyser, the laser, the detection module, the signal processing and user interface and the sampling and filtration module; Reagents and materials, covering zero gas, reference calibration gas, working calibration gas and sodium hydroxide solution; Measurement step, running from preparation through zero calibration, reference calibration, determination and calibration and sample analysis to exhaust gas treatment; and then Results showing and Repeatability.
The draft on the page breaks off at the end of clause 3, so the content of those clauses is known only from their titles. The standard was proposed and is managed by the National Natural Gas Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC244). It was issued on November 19, 2020 and has applied since June 1, 2021.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the analytical method for determining the main chemical composition of shale gas by laser Raman spectroscopy.
This standard applies to the analysis of shale gas components in the range shown in Table 1, and it also applies to the determination of one or several components in shale gas.
Note: The range of shale gas component concentrations that can be measured by laser Raman spectroscopy can be wider, but the reliability of the measurement results is not within the scope of this standard.
2 Normative references
The following documents are indispensable for the application of this document. For dated reference documents, only the dated version applies to this document.
For undated references, the latest version (including all amendments) applies to this document.
GB/T 5274.1 Preparation of mixed gas for gas analysis and calibration Part 1: Preparation of first-level mixed gas by weighing method
SY/T 7433 Natural gas composition analysis by laser Raman spectroscopy
3 Principles of the method
Laser Raman shale gas composition analysis should follow the method principle specified in SY/T 7433. As shown in Figure 1, the laser emits laser to the gas.
In the sample cell, the laser collides with the shale gas component and emits Raman scattered light, which is processed by the detection module and converted into a Raman signal, which is then transmitted to the signal The measurement result is output after processing and user interface. Since the Raman scattering spectra of different components are specific, by detecting different molecules in the sample The specific frequency and intensity of the spectrum are compared with the frequency and intensity of the Raman spectrum of a known standard gas to obtain the composition and content of the sample.
