In.2014, my country issued the national standard GB/T 3883.1-2014, "Safety of Handheld and Portable Power Tools and Garden Tools, Section 1".

Part. General Requirements, which replaces the original GB/T 3883 (Handheld Power Tools), GB/T 13960 (Portable Power Tools), and GB/T 4706 (Garden Power Tools Only) integrates the common technical requirements of the general safety standards for the three major series of power tools.

The specific requirements for certain types of subcategories of products used in conjunction with GB/T 3883.1-2014 consist of three parts, namely Part 2 (hand...

Parts 1 (Handheld Power Tools), 2 (Portable Power Tools), and 3 (Garden Power Tools) are all converted to their corresponding national standards.

The specific requirements of the international standard IEC 62841 series.

The main elements of the standard title have been expanded to "Safety of handheld, portable power tools and garden tools," while retaining the original term "handheld power tools." the standard number for this part is GB/T 3883.The standard sub-section number for each subcategory of product consists of three digits, where the first digit...

The second and third digits indicate the corresponding parts, with the second and third digits representing different subcategories of products.

The new GB/T 3883 series standards will form a relatively scientific, complete, universal, and unified series of safety standards for power tool products.

The system makes the implementation of standards more practical and convenient to use.

Currently, the following standards have been released under the new version of the GB/T 3883 series standards for "Garden-style Power Tools".

---GB/T 3883.401-2023 Safety of Handheld and Portable Power Tools and Garden Tools - Part 401: Chainsaws the purpose of these requirements is to standardize the specific safety requirements for a subcategory of chainsaw products.

---GB/T 3883.402-2023 Safety of handheld and portable power tools and garden tools - Part 402: Pruning shears the purpose of these specific requirements is to standardize the specific safety requirements for a subcategory of pruning shears.

---GB/T 3883.403-2017 Safety of handheld, portable power tools and garden tools - Part 4: Walking and hand-held power tools Specific requirements for handheld lawn mowers and lawn trimmers. The purpose is to standardize the use of walk-behind and handheld lawn mowers and lawn trimmers.

Specific safety requirements for edge-machine subcategories of products;

---GB/T 3883.404-2025 Safety of handheld, portable power tools and garden tools - Part 404: Pedestrian control the specific requirements for lawnmowers aim to standardize the specific safety requirements for the walk-controlled lawnmower subcategory.

The purpose of these requirements is to standardize specific safety requirements for a subcategory of grass shears.

The following standards will be revised in the future.

---GB/T 4706.65-2003 Safety of household and similar electrical appliances - Part 2: Walk-controlled electric lawn rafters Special requirements for sand loosening machines;

---GB/T 4706.79-2005 Safety of household and similar electrical appliances - Part 2: Handheld electric garden dust blowers Special requirements for chip suction machines and blow-suction combined machines;

---GB/T 4706.110-2021 Safety of household and similar electrical appliances - Part 2: Battery-powered smart lawn mowers Special requirements for grass harvesters.
