This document replaces GB/T 3883.3-2007 "Safety of Handheld Power Tools - Part 2: Grinding Machines, Polishing Machines and Disc Sanders".

The "Specific Requirements for Machines" differs from GB/T 3883.3-2007 in that, aside from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.

a) Expanded the operating range of grinding wheels, polishing machines, and disc sanders; added grinding wheels for concrete surfaces; added documents...

Applicable description (see Chapter 1);

b) Added terms such as "diamond grinding wheel" and "concrete surface grinding wheel machine" to the terminology and definitions, and deleted terms such as "angle disc sander".

c) Added a description of tool quality in the general test conditions (see Chapter 5);

d) The requirement for "rated no-load speed" has been added to the label and instruction manual; the requirement for "rated speed" has been deleted; warning statements or labels have been added; and supplementary information has been provided.

Add safety instructions 8.14.1.101 (modified and renumbered), 8.14.2a) add some content, and add clause 8.14.2b).

g) Modified section 19.1 on mechanical hazards; added section 19.3; added a replacement for section 19.6; modified sections 19.101, 19.102, 19.103, and 19.104.

1 Scope

Except as otherwise provided below, this chapter of GB/T 3883.1-2014 applies.

This document applies to handheld grinders, disc polishers, and disc sanders with a rated capacity not exceeding 230mm, including angular grinders.

Vertical, upright tools designed for working with various materials other than magnesium. For grinding wheels, the rated no-load speed does not exceed the linear speed.

The rotational speed corresponding to an accessory with a rated capacity of 80 m/s.

This document also applies to concrete grinding wheels with a rated capacity not exceeding 230mm used for grinding various types of stone.

This document does not apply to grinding machines equipped with non-bonded abrasives or non-diamond grinding wheel attachments.

This document does not apply to grinding machines equipped with the following diamond grinding wheels.
