Scope

GB/T 37430-2019 is the English-translated version of 建筑结构用高强不锈钢.

GB/T 37430-2019 stipulates the terms and definitions, the dimensions, shape and weight tolerances, the technical requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules and the packaging, marking and quality certificate for high strength stainless structural steel for constructions.

Clause 1 limits it to 12Cr13Ni2 high strength stainless structural steel plates or strips, section steel and steel rods for constructions, called stainless steel throughout the rest of the text, and states no further exclusions.

Clause 3 defines the material as steel for architecture structural engineering that takes being stainless and anti-corrosion as its main characteristic and that meets four conditions: a non-proportional extension strength not lower than 600 MPa, a carbon content not more than 0.16%, a chromium content not less than 12.5% and a tempered sorbite metallographic structure.

Clause 4 handles dimensions, shape, weight and tolerances by referring hot-rolled steel bars to GB/T 702 and then turning to hot-rolled steel plates in a sentence the draft on this page cuts off, while clause 5 holds the technical requirements and clause 6 the test methods.

1 Scope

This Standard stipulates the terms, definitions, dimensions, shape and weight tolerances, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking and quality certificate of high strength stainless structural steel for constructions.

This Standard is applicable to 12Cr13Ni2 high strength stainless structural steel plates (or steel strips), section steel and steel rods (hereinafter referred to as stainless steel) for constructions.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions are applicable to this document.

3.1 High Strength Stainless Structural Steel for Constructions

High strength stainless structural steel for constructions refers to steel for architecture structural engineering, which takes stainless and anti-corrosion as the main characteristic; and complies with following stipulations: non-proportional extension strength shall be not lower than 600 MPa, carbon content shall be not more than 0.16%, chromium content shall be not less than 12.5%, metallographic structure shall be tempered sorbite.

4 Dimensions, Shape, Weight and Tolerances

The dimensions, shape, weight and tolerances of hot-rolled steel bars shall respectively comply with relevant stipulations in GB/T 702.
