Scope

GB/T 37158-2018 is the English-translated version of 无损检测 工业计算机层析成像(CT)检测最大可检测钢厚度测试方法.

GB/T 37158-2018 sets out how to measure the maximum detectable steel thickness of an industrial computed tomography (CT) system. It applies to industrial CT systems with a ray energy of 225 keV and above, and uses the phantom described in GB/T 37122, made of round steel discs of different outer diameters.

The standard gives the testing requirements and steps, and defines the result: under specified spatial resolution, the outer diameter of the largest disc that still meets R of at least 10% and CNR of at least 3 is taken as the maximum detectable steel thickness.

It also lists what the testing record, the image data file and the test report must contain, and an annex recommends disc diameters. The standard was issued on 28 December 2018 and has applied since 1 July 2019.

1 Scope

This Standard specifies the test method for measuring the maximum detectable steel thickness by industrial computed tomography (CT).

This Standard is applicable to the test for measuring the maximum detectable steel thickness indicator of industrial CT system of which the radian energy is 225 keV and above.

3 Terms and definitions

For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions defined in GB/T 12604.2 and GB/T 34365 as well as the following apply.

3.1 The maximum detectable steel thickness

For a specific CT system, under certain conditions such as scanning and […]

5.3 Guideline

Under specified spatial resolution conditions, when R=10% and CNR=3, the outer diameter size of round disc of tested phantom is defined as the maximum detectable steel thickness. This thickness value usually requires multiple testing of fitting curves. To simplify testing, it usually regards the outer diameter size of round disc of testable maximum phantom as the maximum detectable steel thickness under specified spatial resolution conditions, when R>=10% and CNR>=3.

6 Testing record and report

6.1 Testing record

6.1.1 Testing record usually shall contain detailed records such as standard test piece name, test purpose, test equipment, ray source parameters, scanning mode, slice thickness, slice position, scanning time, field of view diameter, image matrix, reconstruction parameters, image description, evaluation criteria, tester, reviewer, test date.

6.1.2 Image data file shall generally include image number, standard test piece name, test purpose, test equipment, ray source parameters, scanning mode, slice thickness, slice position, scanning time, field of view diameter, image matrix, reconstruction parameters, etc.

6.2 Testing report

Testing report shall usually contain standard test piece name, test purpose, test equipment, test method, slice thickness, slice position, image matrix, test image, evaluation standard, evaluation result, tester, reviewer, approver, test date, report date. […]
