GB/T 37103-2018 gives a method for assessing the self-care ability in daily life of persons with disability.
It sets the content of the assessment, drawn from a small number of simple and representative activities of daily living, the way the assessment is carried out and how the results are graded, with a daily living ability rating scale in an informative annex.
It defines terms such as activities of daily living, rehabilitation aids, nasal feeding and community activity scope.
The method is presented in simple charts so that rehabilitation practitioners, the persons assessed and their families can apply it and read the results, instead of relying on adapted foreign scales such as the modified Barthel index. It was issued on 28 December 2018 and has applied since 1 July 2019.
