Scope

GB/T 36650-2018 is the English-translated version of 光纤着色油墨.

GB/T 36650-2018 covers the ultraviolet (UV) curing inks used to colour optical fibres. It sets requirements for appearance, colour across 12 commonly used shades, physical and chemical properties, compatibility, high and low temperature performance, solvent resistance of the coloured layer and environmental protection.

The test methods cover appearance and colour, viscosity, density, fineness, elastic modulus, elongation at break and tensile strength, curing speed, thermal stability and compatibility, and a normative annex gives the colour values in the Pantone and Munsell colour systems.

The standard also lays down the inspection rules, with type tests and quality consistency tests, inspection lots, sampling plans and decision rules, together with marking, packaging, transport and storage.

Ink suppliers and buyers use it to agree on what a colouring ink must deliver. It was issued on 17 September 2018 and has applied since 1 January 2019.

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of optical fiber coloring inks.

This standard applies to ultraviolet light (UV) curing fiber coloring ink (hereinafter referred to as coloring ink).

3 Requirements

3.1 Appearance

The pigmented ink should have no obvious chromatic aberration, no impurities, no visible pigment particles, and no coagulating homogeneous liquid.

3.2 Color

The commonly used 12 color shades of the pigmented ink are shown in Table 1. The visual inspection is distinguishable and has no obvious chromatic aberration.

The color value of the colored layer color is as specified in Appendix A.

If the color specified in Table 1 is exceeded, it can be negotiated between the supplier and the buyer.
