Scope

GB/T 36414-2018 is the English-translated version of 工业过程测量和控制 仪表容错性能技术规范.

GB/T 36414-2018 sets out how to evaluate the way industrial process measurement and control instruments tolerate misuse that can reasonably be foreseen.

It defines terms such as persistent fault, fault tolerance of misuse, fault insertion and protective measures, and classifies fault tolerance by type, by content and by the carrier of the fault-tolerance measures.

Its technical requirements cover the default state and four kinds of fault tolerance - preventive, warning, acceptable and error correction - each matched by a test method, and it closes with the content of the evaluation report.

Faults inside instrument modules and safety-related fault tolerance, such as electrical or explosion-proof safety, are outside its scope. It builds on the general performance assessment methods of GB/T 18271.1-2017 and the report content of GB/T 18271.4. It was issued on 7 June 2018 and has applied since 1 January 2019.

Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the terms, classifications, technical requirements, test methods, and evaluation reports for industrial process measurement and control instrument misuse and fault tolerance.

This standard is applicable to the evaluation of misuse of fault-tolerant performance of industrial process measurement and control instruments.

Note: Fault tolerance has a wide range of meanings. Fault tolerance in this standard is limited to the misuse of fault tolerance defined in 3.3. In particular, this standard does not include modules in the instrument The type of fault tolerance that continues to maintain correct operation results under faults does not include those that involve safety-related fault tolerance. Involving electrical safety, explosion-proof safety, and work The security standards can be enforced when various security contents such as security are available.

3 Terms and Definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 18271.1-2017 and the following apply to this document.

3.1 Reasonably foreseeable misuse

The use of products and/or systems not provided by the supplier, caused by the behavior of easily foreseen people. [GB/T 20002.4-2015 [2], Definition 3.7]

3.2 Persistent fault

The fault will remain until the fault is corrected by some intervention.

Note: The term "intervention" can be modified or repaired. [GB/T 2900.99-2016 [1], definition 192-04-04]

3.3 Fault tolerance of misuse

In the event of misuse that can reasonably be foreseen, the equipment can still perform some of the specified functions, or it will not cause continuous failure of the equipment.

3.4 Fault insertion

Actual faults are introduced into the hardware and software of the device to check whether the device's behavior under fault conditions meets fault-tolerant design requirements. Fault-tolerant mechanisms or performance are evaluated.

3.5 Protective measure

Actions or measures to eliminate danger or reduce risk.
