Scope
GB/T 35159-2017 is the English-translated version of 喷射混凝土用速凝剂.
China's national standard for flash setting admixtures used in shotcrete. Shotcrete is concrete sprayed at a surface at high velocity, and it is what holds a tunnel or a rock slope up in the hours after excavation. The admixture is what makes it possible: sprayed onto a vertical or overhead surface, ordinary concrete falls off, so an accelerator is injected at the nozzle that takes the mix from fluid to set within seconds. That is a violent chemical intervention, and it comes at a cost the standard exists to bound. Accelerated concrete loses long-term strength compared with the same mix left alone, and the older alkaline accelerators - sodium aluminate and silicate based - lost a great deal of it, as well as being corrosive enough to cause serious burns to the sprayer's crew. Alkali-free accelerators fixed both problems and are now the norm. Specifying setting time, early strength, long-term strength retention and alkali content together is what stops one being bought at the expense of the others.

This standard specifies the terminology and definition of quick-setting agent for shotcrete, classification and marking, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, the product said Ming book, logo, packaging, transportation and storage. This standard applies to the quick-setting agent used in construction of concrete or cement mortar spray method.
