Scope

GB/T 33888-2017 is the English-translated version of 无损检测仪器超声测厚仪特性与验证.

GB/T 33888-2017 is the Chinese national standard for characterising and verifying a pulse echo ultrasonic thickness gauge.

It covers both the straight digital reading and the waveform display types, used with a single or a twin crystal probe, and it fixes the general requirements the instrument and its probe have to satisfy, the information a manufacturer's technical specification has to carry about the display, the transmitter and the receiver, and the material, shape and size of the calibration block.

The tests come in three groups, from temperature stability, low battery warning and working time to pulse repetition frequency, transmit pulse shape, receiver frequency range, the smallest and largest thickness measurable, accuracy and resolution, the sound velocity setting and the storage of calibrations and data. It was issued on 12 July 2017 and has applied since 1 February 2018.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the method and acceptance criteria for evaluating the performance of pulse echo ultrasonic thickness measurement instruments.

This standard includes straight (digital) read and waveform display types, using a single probe or twin crystal probe.

This standard applies to GB/T 27664 series of standards for the thickness of the equipment validation.

3 Terms and definitions

GB/T 12604.1 Definitions of terms and definitions apply to this document.

4 General requirements

Ultrasonic thickness measurement equipment should meet the following conditions.

a) Ultrasonic instruments and probes shall comply with the technical requirements of this standard;

b) Declaration of conformity issued by an organization with ISO 9001 certification, or an organization such as an ultrasound product quality supervision and inspection center The test certificate, or the internal test of the test report;

c) Ultrasonic instruments and probes shall clearly identify the manufacturer, model and series and unique serial number;

d) instructions for use of specific models and series of ultrasound equipment;

e) According to this standard in the manufacturer's technical specifications in the corresponding model and series of ultrasonic equipment performance indicators.

Note: The manufacturer's technical specifications do not fully constitute the required certification for b).

5 Technical specification for ultrasonic thickness measurement equipment

5.1 General conditions

For a certain type of ultrasonic thickness measurement equipment, its technical specifications should contain at least the information listed in 5.2 ~ 5.5. Tests based on Chapter 7 Test the values obtained as nominal values and tolerances.
