Scope
GB/T 32710.12-2016 is the English-translated version of 环境试验仪器及设备安全规范 第12部分:盐槽.
GB/T 32710.12-2016 is Part 12 of GB/T 32710 and specifies, for the salt tank used for measurement, control and laboratory purposes, protection against electric shock and electrical burns, mechanical hazards, the spread of flame from inside the equipment, excessive temperature, fluid and fluid pressure, the effects of radiation including laser sources, sound pressure and ultrasonic pressure, and the release of gas, explosion and implosion.
Clause 1 states that this part applies to salt tanks for measurement, control and laboratory applications and that it does not cover the reliability, performance or other characteristics of the equipment unrelated to safety, the validity of the transport packaging, electromagnetic compatibility requirements, protective measures for the environment, maintenance, or the protection of maintenance personnel; a note adds that where all or part of a salt tank falls both within this part and within one or more other parts of GB/T 32710, those other GB/T 32710 standards apply as well.
The foreword says GB/T 32710 is divided into thirteen parts, that this part was developed on the basis of GB/T 32710.1-2016 and GB 4793.1-2007 and is to be used together with them, and that the subclauses added to GB 4793.1-2007 are numbered from 101 upwards.
Clause 2 cites GB 4208-2008, GB 4706.1-2005, GB 4793.1-2007, GB/T 5465.2-2008, all parts of GB 17465, GB/T 32710.1-2016 and ISO 7000:2004.
Clause 3 adopts the definitions of GB 4793.1-2007 and adds one, numbered 3.1.101, for the experimental thermostat: a complete device that immerses, heats or cools experimental articles and keeps them at a set temperature in a liquid heat transfer medium, built from a controller, heating or heat-absorbing devices, an open tank container and a circulating pump or stirring device.
The contents list clause 4 Test, clause 5 logo and file, clause 6 anti-shock, clause 7 Mechanical hazards, clause 8 Resistance to mechanical shock and impact, clause 9 to prevent the spread of flame, clause 10 Equipment temperature limits and heat resistance, clause 11 Risk of fluid protection, clause 12 Radiation protection (including laser source), sound pressure and ultrasonic pressure, clause 13 Protection against release of gas, explosion and implosion and clause 14 components, followed by entries on the protection of interlocks and on test and measurement equipment and by one appendix.
The foreword names the National Laboratory Equipment and Equipment Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC526) as the body holding this part, and the page files it under ICS 19.040 and Chinese classification N61. It was issued on 14 June 2016 and has applied since 1 January 2017.
