Scope
GB/T 32489-2016 is the English-translated version of 轧钢加热炉节能运行技术要求.
GB/T 32489-2016 specifies the terms and definitions, the technical requirements, the inspection and measurement methods and the operational requirements for the energy-saving operation of the reheating furnace in steel rolling.
Clause 1 states that it applies to new, expanded or reconstructed heating furnaces in the rolling process of iron and steel enterprises, and that other heating furnaces may also refer to it.
Clause 2 cites GB/T 13338 on the basic rules for the determination and calculation of the thermal balance of industrial fuel furnaces, GB/T 15319 on the energy saving monitoring of flame heating furnaces, GB/T 17195 on industrial furnace terms, GB/T 22590 on refractory castable for rolling furnaces, GB 28665 on the emission standard of air pollutants in the rolling steel industry, GB 50825 on the acceptance of heating furnace quality in iron and steel plants, YB/T 4209 on regenerative combustion technology in the iron and steel industry and YB/T 4242 on the energy-saving design of steel rolling furnaces for iron and steel enterprises, together with two further documents whose numbers the draft has dropped, one on the general rules for calculating the thermal efficiency of equipment and one on the design of industrial furnaces for steel mills.
Clause 3, Terms and definitions, takes its terms from GB/T 17195 and carries five entries: the first is the fuel chemical heat required per ton of steel to heat the billet to the target temperature, a quantity whose term name the draft prints inconsistently; then high temperature air combustion, in which the combustion air is preheated to a high temperature, usually above 800 °C, before being burned; oxygen-enriched combustion, where the oxygen concentration in the combustion air is greater than that of conventional air; pulsed combustion, an intermittent combustion method that adjusts the burning time using pulse width modulation; and evaporative cooling, in which the cooling water in the heating furnace is converted into saturated steam.
The draft on the source page ends with that fifth definition, so the technical requirements, the inspection and measurement methods and the operational requirements are not shown, and the page carries no summary of its own.
The page gives ICS 77.010 and Chinese classification H04, estimates the text at 11,143 words, and records that the standard was proposed by the China Iron and Steel Industry Association and is under the jurisdiction of the National Steel Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC183). It was issued on 24 February 2016 and has applied since 1 March 2017.
