Scope

GB/T 30798-2014 is the English-translated version of 食品用洗涤剂试验方法 荧光增白剂的测定.

GB/T 30798-2014 gives the test method for detecting fluorescent whitening agents, also called optical brighteners, in detergents for food use. Clause 1 states that it applies to the determination of optical brighteners in food use detergents and is suitable for detergents not intended for food use as well.

The principle in clause 3 is that a fluorescent whitening agent fluoresces under ultraviolet light, the bright sheen being visible in the dark, so that its presence can be judged.

Clause 4 lists the apparatus: an ultraviolet analyser or ultraviolet lamp at a wavelength of 365 nm, fitted with a reflective shield and held 100 mm to 200 mm from the irradiated surface, a constant temperature water bath, and a darkroom or dark box.

Clause 5 sets out the direct method, with a procedure for solid samples, which are laid flat on a clean black background and irradiated from 100 mm to 200 mm in the darkroom or dark box, and one for liquid samples, which are taken as they are or made up as a 2% aqueous solution in a clean petri dish against a black background and irradiated in the same way; in either case a bright sheen means a whitening agent is present.

Two notes qualify the result: the direct method is quick, but some natural products fluoresce and a sample may be taken for one containing a whitening agent when it does not, so a slight fluorescence has to be confirmed by the limit test, and the operator should avoid looking straight into the ultraviolet light.

HG/T 2609 on standard test bleached cotton, HG/T 3675 on fluorescent brightener CXT and HG/T 3726 on fluorescent brightener 351 are cited as normative references.

The standard was proposed by the China National Light Industry Council and is administered by the National Technical Committee on Food Washing and Disinfection Products Standardization (SAC/TC395); it was issued on 2014-07-08 and has applied since 2014-11-01.

Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with GB/T 1.1-2009 given rules. The standard proposed by China National Light Industry Council.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the test method for determination of detergent fluorescent whitening food.

This standard applies to food Determination of optical brighteners in detergents, detergent is also suitable for the determination of non-food use of optical brighteners.

2 Normative references

The following documents for the application of this document is essential. For dated references, only the dated version suitable for use herein Member. For undated references, the latest edition (including any amendments) applies to this document.

GB/T 6682 Analysis Laboratory use specifications and test methods

HG/T 2609 Standard Test dye bleach cotton

HG/T 3675 Fluorescent Brightener CXT (CI fluorescent brightener 71)

HG/T 3726 Fluorescent Brightener 351 (CI Fluorescent Brightener 351)

3 Principle

Fluorescent brightener UV irradiation will fluoresce bright shiny dark can be observed, may determine that it exists.

4 Instrument

4.1 Ultraviolet analytical instruments or ultraviolet light, the wavelength of 365nm, with a reflective protective mask lamp to the irradiation surface distance 100mm ~ 200mm.

4.2 Constant temperature water bath.

4.3 darkroom or camera obscura.

5 Direct method

5.1 Solid samples

The sample flat on a clean black background, irradiation with ultraviolet light from a distance of 100mm ~ 200mm in the darkroom or camera obscura, Such as those containing fluorescent whitening agent, the resulting bright luster.

5.2 Liquid sample

Dope samples were taken or formulated as a 2% aqueous solution in a clean petri dish, a black background in a darkroom or camera obscura with ultraviolet light From 100mm ~ 200mm distance irradiation, such as those containing optical brighteners, then produce a bright sheen.

Note 1. The direct method is a fast method, but some natural products will produce fluorescence, it will contain fluorescent brightener sample containing fluorescent whitening agent mistakenly believe, therefore In the case of slightly fluorescent, the limit test should be carried out further confirmation.

Note 2. When the decision is not to pay attention to UV exposure to the eyes directly.
