4 Principles

A rectangular corrugated cardboard sample is placed between the two pressure plates of a compression tester, with the corrugation direction of the sample perpendicular to the pressure plates, and pressure is applied until...

The specimen is crushed, and the maximum pressure the specimen can withstand is determined. To prevent premature crushing of the specimen edges when pressure is applied, paraffin wax is used to coat the specimen.

Reinforce the force edge (width edge).

5 Instruments and Materials

5.1 Compression testing apparatus, the instrument shall conform to the provisions of GB/T 22876.

5.2 The following equipment can be used for the sample cutting device.

a) A band saw or knife, and cutting fixtures, used to produce specimens with undamaged, straight cut edges that are perpendicular to the cardboard.

surface.

b) A circular saw with a sharp, non-offset saw blade (preferably using hollow or tapered grinding), the saw blade being perpendicular to the table supporting the specimen.

c) Electric double-blade cutter, the blades should be straight and sharply ground, with a blade thickness of approximately 0.5mm, and a bevel of approximately 3mm should only be ground on one side.
