Foreword

This standard ASTMB478. 1985 "Thermal bimetallic transverse bending test method" (2003 review confirm) to modify the degree of consistency use. This standard is based on ASTMB478. 1985 (R2003) redrafted. The standard lists the reg number in Appendix A and ASTMB478. 1985 reg control list numbered.

This standard ASTMB478. 1985 (R2003) compared to the main technical differences are detailed in Appendix C.

--- To facilitate the use of standards, increased lateral bending radius of curvature of the formula;

--- Removed ASTMB478. 1985 (R2003) Chapter 11, an increase of Appendix B.

1 Scope

This standard specifies thermal bimetal strip lateral bending of the measuring method, measuring apparatus, sampling, sample preparation and calculation formulas and the like.

This standard applies to the measurement of thermal bimetal curved transversely, also applicable to other materials lateral bending of accurate measurement.

This standard does not address all of the safety elements contents before using this standard, the user has the responsibility to develop appropriate security regime.

4 Measuring principle
