Foreword

GB/T 22324 "saffron" is divided into the following two parts.

--- Part 1. Specifications;

--- Part 2. Test methods.

This section GB/T 22324 Part 1.

This section drafted in accordance with GB/T 1.1-2009 given rules.

This section replaces GB/T 22324.1-2008 "saffron Part 1. Specifications." This section and GB/T 22324.1-2008 phase Than, except for editorial changes outside the main technical differences are as follows.

--- Remove the "total nitrogen" and "crude fiber" two indicators (see Table 2);

--- Added "artificial color" indicator (see Table 2).

This section uses the translation method identical with ISO 3632-1:2011 "spices Saffron Part 1. Specifications." the documents of our country that are consistent with the corresponding international documents that are normative references in this section are as follows.

Spices and condiments - Determination of total ash content (ISO 928:1997, NEQ);

--- GB/T 12729.9-2008 spice and condiment Determination of acid insoluble ash (ISO 930:1997, MOD);

This section made the following editorial changes.

This part of the National Spice Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC408) centralized.

1 Scope

GB/T 22324 provisions of this part of saffron (CrocussativusL.) Technical requirements.

This section applies to the quality assessment of saffron and its trade.

Note. Saffron plants are shown in Figure 1, pistils are shown in Figure 2, and flower appendages are shown in Figure 3.

3 Terms and definitions

ISO 3632-2 and defined by the following terms and definitions apply to this document.

Stigma

Pistil air section.

Example. The saffron stigma is dark red in trumpet-like shape, with apical edges dentate, with the ends connected to the style.

Stigma and ovary between the pistil part.

Stamen

Male flower reproductive organs.

Note. The saffron stamens are yellow.

Extraneousmatter

From crocus plants, but not as a spice or herb.
