GB/T 20895.2-2025 — This document describes a method for assessing the stability and buoyancy of sailboats with an intact (i.e., undamaged) hull length of not less than 6 meters, and also includes assessments of...
Methods for improving the buoyancy of easily flooded and sunken boats. This document is used to assess stability and buoyancy, and to classify each vessel into a design category appropriate to its design load and maximum load.
(A, B, C, or D). This document applies to the evaluation of the stability and buoyancy of boats with a hull length of 6m to 24m that are primarily propelled by sails (including those equipped with auxiliary machinery).
This document also applies to the assessment and classification of the stability and buoyancy of vessels with a hull length of less than 6m, if they are habitable vessels and do not meet the classification standards.
It meets the design category required by ISO 12217-3, and is equipped with a deck and has rapid drainage in accordance with ISO 11812. Concave body. This document includes an assessment of the capsizing sensitivity of habitable multihull vessels, a definition of feasible escape routes, and requirements for capsizing buoyancy.
This document does not include. ---Inflatable boats and rigid inflatable boats covered by ISO 6185, except for references to specific clauses of ISO 12217 in ISO 6185; ---Flat-bottomed boats and pedal boats; --- Sailing and surfboards; --- Hydrofoils and wing-stabilized boats when not in displacement mode.
Note. Displacement mode refers to a boat supported only by hydrostatic force. This document does not consider or assess the impact of towing, fishing, dredging, or lifting operations on stability; such situations require separate consideration (if appropriate). use).

Introduction
GB/T 20895, "Assessment and Classification of Stability and Buoyancy of Small Boats," provides the assessment and classification of stability and buoyancy of small boats, consisting of three parts.
constitute.
---Part 1: Non-sailable boats with a hull length of not less than 6m. The purpose is to provide stability data for non-sailable boats with a hull length of not less than 6m.
The assessment and classification of buoyancy, using this section to evaluate stability and buoyancy, and to assign each vessel a rating based on its design load and maximum buoyancy.
Design category (A, B, C, or D) suitable for large loads.
---Part 2: Sailing Boats with a Hull Length of Not Less Than 6m. The purpose is to provide information on the stability and buoyancy of sailing boats with a hull length of not less than 6m.
The assessment and classification of stability and buoyancy are conducted in this section, which evaluates each vessel and assigns it a rating based on its design load and maximum load.
Design category (A, B, C, or D) that is adapted to the load phase.
---Part 3: Vessels with a hull length of less than 6m. The purpose is to provide an assessment of the stability and buoyancy of vessels with a hull length of less than 6m.
In addition to classification, this section assesses stability and buoyancy, assigning each vessel a classification appropriate to its design and maximum loads.
Design category (C or D).
Assessment and classification of stability and buoyancy of small boats Part 2: Sailing boats with a hull length of not less than 6m Note. Compliance with the requirements of this document does not guarantee the boat's 100% safety, nor does it guarantee that it will not capsize or sink.
