Foreword
This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1: Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting.
This document replaces GB/T 20242-2006 "Methods for measuring the acoustic characteristics of real ears for hearing aids".
In addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
--- Added the definition and test method of the real ear and coupler cavity difference (RECD) (see 3.37, 8.9);
--- Added the definition and test method of the real ear and audiometer reading difference (REDD) (see 3.38, 8.10);
--- Added the International Speech Test Signal (ISTS) as the preferred speech-like test signal (see Chapter 6).
This document is equivalent to IEC 61669:2015 "Methods for measuring the real-ear acoustic characteristics of electroacoustic hearing aids".
The following minimal editorial changes have been made to this document.
--- To be consistent with the existing standard series, the name of the standard is changed to "Measurement of Real Ear Acoustic Characteristics of Acoustic Hearing Aids".
--- This document incorporates the amendments to IEC 61669:2015/Amd1.2025.The outer margins of the clauses involved are marked with Vertical double lines (||) are marked.
Introduction
Since hearing aids are affected by the acoustic characteristics and coupling characteristics of the human ear during actual use, their acoustic performance characteristics are different from those of the human ear.
The performance characteristics defined in GB/T 25102.100 and GB/T 25102.7 are very different. Therefore, when fitting different hearing aid wearers, when measuring the coupling characteristics and acoustic effects, it is very important to use a measurement method that takes into account the coupling characteristics and acoustic effects. This measurement method is called "real ear measurement" and it is sometimes used in non-ideal the accuracy and repeatability of measurements made under these conditions are affected by the following factors. the sound field, the test environment,, test signal characteristics, the hearing aid to be evaluated, test signal control methods, sound field source locations, and characteristics of data acquisition, analysis, and presentation, and the subject was allowed a range of motion.
This document provides the terms and definitions used in the measurement of the real-ear acoustic performance characteristics of hearing aids and proposes the standards for the test procedure and result reporting.
The format is fixed, which specifies the necessary characteristics provided by the equipment manufacturer for real ear measurement and describes the tolerances for sound pressure level control and measurement.
Where possible, the source of the error is identified and suggested solutions are provided.
