Introduction

New transmitters for industrial process control systems are now universally equipped with microprocessors that employ digital signal processing and communication methods.

Auxiliary sensing elements and artificial intelligence. This makes them more complex than traditional analog transmitters, while giving them considerable added value.

A smart transmitter is a device that uses digital processing and communication technology to perform its functions, protect and transmit data and information during operation.

Set. It may be equipped with additional sensing elements and functional units that support the main functions of the smart transmitter. For example, various additional functional units

Accuracy and range, self-diagnostics, alarms, and status monitoring can be improved. Therefore, performance tests related to accuracy, although still a review

One of the main aspects, but not enough to show flexibility, ability and other aspects related to engineering, installation, maintainability, reliability, and operability

Off features.

Due to the complexity of smart transmitters, a close collaborative relationship between the assessment agency and the manufacturer should be established. When establishing the test procedure,

Pay attention to the manufacturer's product technical parameters, and invite manufacturers to comment on the test procedures and results. Report submitted by the testing agency

The medium should include the manufacturer's opinion on the test results.

The main body of this section is dedicated to building a method that must be followed for design review and performance testing of smart transmitters. a lot of

In this case, smart transmitters also have the ability to be integrated into digital communication (bus) systems to work with a variety of other devices. At this time

Credibility, interoperability, and real-time performance are all important issues. These aspects of the test largely depend on the inside of the smart transmitter

Department structure and organization, and the architecture and scale of the bus system. Appendix A, Appendix B and Appendix C give a non-mandatory approach

And frameworks, specific assessment procedures for designing credibility, throughput testing, and functional block testing in specific situations.

When it is not necessary or possible to conduct a full performance test in accordance with this section, those tests that need to be done should be tested in accordance with the relevant provisions of this section.

Test and report the results. In this case, the test report should state that it does not include all the tests specified in this section. In addition, in order to give a report

The reader should have a clear overview and should list the omitted items.

The structure of this part mainly follows the framework of GB/T 19767. For performance tests, please refer to the GB/T 18271 series of standards,

Many of the tests described in the series of standards are still valid for smart transmitters. It is recommended to read the GB/T 18272 series standard further because

Some of the performance assessment methods developed for this section are derived from the relevant concepts presented by the series of standards.

4 Design review

4.1 General

The design review refers to a structured approach that clearly demonstrates the functionality and capabilities of the smart transmitter being inspected. As stated in the introduction, wisdom

The transmitter has a variety of design options. Design review is a necessary means of revealing the following details.

---Physical structure;

---Functional structure.

4.2 The guide assessor describes the physical structure of the smart transmitter by dividing the input and output of the hardware module and the operating domain and the environmental domain.

Then, the functional structure is described using a checklist of 4.3. The checklist gives a framework of relevant topics that need to be properly characterized by the rater

And quantitative test to express.

4.2 Transmitter Analysis

4.2.1 General

Transmitters can be divided into two different types.

* Single-variable transmitter. The measured value (output) represents a single physical quantity measured by a single sensor.

* Multivariable transmitters, which are divided into two types.

--- One transmitter provides multiple measured values (outputs), one measured value corresponds to the input of a specific sensor;

--- One transmitter provides a composite measured variable that is measured by multiple sensors and processed by a specific algorithm

(eg. flow totalizer), mechanical power meter. In many cases, the user can also obtain a single measured variable.

Each type of smart transmitter may be equipped with independent auxiliary sensors and aids that do not involve the main measurement process (mainly

Digital output).

Figure 1 shows the maximum configuration of the universal transmitter model, which is used to create a block diagram that briefly describes the transmitter being evaluated.

With. It is also important to explain the function being evaluated during the performance test (see Chapter 5).

Functionally, the transmitter is an information converter. Data through the different (external) domains given in Figure 1, along a clear data flow path

The path goes in and out of the transmitter. The following paths (although not necessarily resident specific transmitters) need to be elaborated.

* Sensor (process domain) to external system (remote data processing system);

* Sensor (process domain) to local display (artificial domain);

* Sensor (process domain) to external system (electrical output);

* The operator commands the data to the external system via the local keyboard (artificial domain) to the data processing subsystem (remote number

According to the processing system and electrical output);

* Remote command (from an external remote data processing system) to the data processing subsystem of the transmitter, thereby making the above data flow outward

Department system (electrical output) and local display (artificial domain).

The assessment report should include a block diagram and instructions, and additional photos or drawings for important details.

The main physical modules of the smart transmitter, the devices used to connect the external system, and the human-machine interface are explained in 4.2.2~4.2.9.

Ct---cycle time.

4.2.2 Data Processing Subsystem

The data processing subsystem is the heart of the smart transmitter. Its main function is to provide human, communication interface and/or electrical output subsystem

And process variables for further real-time applications. Quite a number of transmitters measure a physical quantity with only one (main) sensor, but the composite

The use of multiple sensors, such as heat, mass flow, and mechanical power, is required.

In addition to the main measurement functions, a transmitter can have many different additional functions. Among them, the transmitter has additional work
