Foreword
GB/T 15120 "Identification Card Recording Technology" has or plans to release the following parts.
---Part 1. embossing;
--- Part 2. Low coercivity of the magnetic strip;
---Part 6. Magnetic strips high coercivity;
--- Part 9. Tactile identifier tag.
This part is the 9th part of GB/T 15120.
This part is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This section uses the redrafting method to modify the use of ISO /IEC 7811-9.2015 "Identification card recording technology Part 9. Tactile identification

This section has the following structural adjustments compared to ISO /IEC 7811-9.2015.
--- Removed Chapter 2 Consistency;
--- Added "normative references" (see Chapter 2).
The technical differences between this part and ISO /IEC 7811-9.2015 and their reasons are as follows.
--- Regarding the normative reference documents, this section has made technical adjustments to adapt to the technical conditions of China. Adjustment
The situation is reflected in Chapter 2, "Regulatory Citations", and the specific adjustments are as follows.
* Added reference to GB/T 15120.1-2013 (see 4.1);
* Added reference to GB/T 15720-2008 (see 4.4).
--- Chapter 3 terms and definitions add "TIM points" (see 3.3, 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3), "TIM spot diameters" (see 3.4 and 4.3) and "TIM
Point high" (see 3.5 and 4.3).
---4.3 added "the shape of the TIM point is approximately hemispherical".
--- 4.4 added "should use the Braille scheme specified in Chapter 5 of GB/T 15720-2008".
This section also made the following editorial changes.
--- Revised the description of the scope in Chapter 1;
--- Modified the definition of 3.1 tactile identifier tag;
--- Added Table 1, the regional parameters included in Figure 1 of the international standard are listed in Table 1;
--- Added Table 2, the position parameters included in Figure 2 of the international standard are listed in Table 2;
--- Change the length symbol of "a, b, c, d,," in the figure to "l1, l2, l3, l4,," (see Figure 1 and Figure 2);
--- Change the note of 4.4 to text content;
--- Removed the base size and shape of the TIM point of Figure 3;
--- Replace the imperial units with international units.
1 Scope
This part of GB/T 15120 specifies the tactile identifier tag (TIM) used by card holders to identify cards for visual impairments.
The physical characteristics that define the distribution, location, size, and mark design of the tactile identifier on the card.
This section applies to the manufacture and testing of identification cards with tactile identifier markings.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
Tactile identifier tag tactileidentifiermark; TIM
The card surface is for the card holder of the visually impaired to identify the array of bumps used by the card.
3.2
Embossed embossed
Significant bulging on the front side of the card, by locally adding the card material, causing the card material to react or causing the card material to partially break from the reverse side
Formed by deformation.
3.3
TIM point TIMdot(s)
Forms each raised portion of the TIM.
Note. This is the bump in the TIM.
3.4
TIM point diameter diameterofTIMdot
The diameter of the bottom circle of the TIM point.
3.5
TIM point high TIMdotheight
The vertical distance from the top of the TIM point to the bottom surface.
4 TIM physical characteristics
4.1 TIM area
The TIM area should be located on the front of the card, as shown in Figure 1. The regional parameter values shall comply with the requirements of Table 1.
