Scope

GB/T 14057.1-2008 is the English-translated version of 放射性污染表面去污 第1部分:试验与评价去污难易程度的方法.

GB/T 14057.1-2008 is Part 1 of the Chinese national standard on the decontamination of radioactively contaminated surfaces, and gives the method for testing and assessing how easily a surface can be decontaminated. In a nuclear installation the choice of floor, wall and equipment coverings decides how much of a spill can be removed and how much activity stays behind for the life of the plant, so designers and operators need a comparable figure for candidate materials. The method contaminates a test surface with a defined radioactive solution, decontaminates it by a specified procedure and reports the decontamination factor, from which surfaces and coatings can be ranked and accepted. It is superseded by GB/T 14057.1-2026; this edition remains the reference for materials qualified under it. Issued on 2 July 2008, it applied from 1 April 2009 and replaced GB/T 14057-1993.
