Foreword

This standard replaces GB/T 12928-1991 Marine medium pressure reciprocating air compressor and GB/T 12933-1991 Marine low pressure reciprocating air compressor.

Compared with GB/T 12928-1991 and GB/T 12933-1991, the main technical changes of this standard are as follows:

- GB/T 12928-1991 and GB/T 12933-1991 have been merged and revised into the new edition of GB/T 12928;

- the scope of application has been redefined, and marine air compressors with a rated discharge pressure not greater than 4.0 MPa have been included in the scope;

- the referenced standards have been modified;

- a clause on terms and definitions has been added;

- the basic parameters of the products in the two original standards have been combined into Table 1 and Table 2;

- specific requirements for the materials of the main parts of the air compressor have been put forward in Table 4;

- the classification and requirements of the noise sound power indices of the various types of air compressors have been adjusted in Table 5;

- a lubricating oil consumption requirement for the volume rate of flow band of 51 m3/h to 119 m3/h has been added in Table 6;

- the marine condition requirements and tests have been changed into environmental adaptability requirements and tests, and the specific values have been modified;

- test methods for oil consumption and cooling water consumption have been added;

- Table 9 (Inspection items and sequence) has been modified.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and marking, packaging, transportation and storage of marine medium and low pressure reciprocating air compressors (hereinafter referred to as "air compressors").

This standard applies to the design, production, testing, acceptance, etc. of marine medium and low pressure reciprocating air compressors driven by electric motors with a rated discharge pressure of 3.0 MPa, 1.0 MPa and 0.7 MPa.

Marine air compressors driven by diesel engines and other marine air compressors with a rated discharge pressure not greater than 4.0 MPa may also be implemented by reference to this standard.
