Scope
GB/T 12703.6-2010 is the English-translated version of 纺织品 静电性能的评定 第6部分：纤维泄漏电阻.
GB/T 12703.6-2010 is Part 6 of the Chinese series on the evaluation of the electrostatic properties of textiles, and specifies a test method for the leakage resistance of all kinds of staple fibres.
The method works on the resistance-capacitance discharge principle: a 2 g fibre specimen is packed into an insulating acrylic cylinder under a 400 g electrode weight, connected across a charged capacitor, and the time t for the meter pointer to travel from zero to full scale is multiplied by the preselected range index 10^n (10^7 to 10^11 Omega, extendable to 10^6 to 10^12 Omega) to give the leakage resistance R = t × 10^n.
It sets the apparatus, the conditioning and test atmosphere of (20 ± 2) °C and (35 ± 5) % relative humidity with air velocity below 0.1 m/s, specimen preparation (3 to 4 specimens per lot, or on-site sampling of slivers), the test procedure including discharge before any repeat reading, the calculation of the lot mean and the content of the test report.
It was issued on 14 January 2011 and has been in force since 1 August 2011; the other parts of the series cover half-life of electrostatic voltage, charge density, charge, resistivity, frictional voltage and dynamic voltage.
