This document is Part 14 of the series on determination of sulfur compounds in natural gas and describes determination of hydrogen sulfide content by ion chromatography.

Gas laboratories, producers, transmission and distribution companies, and inspection bodies are the main readers. Because it is one part of a series, users who handle several sulfur species can choose the part that matches the method available in their laboratory. It is a recommended national standard, so it is voluntary unless adopted by contract or rule. It was issued on 28 August 2026 and takes effect on 1 March 2027. It is an original Chinese document and does not adopt an international standard. Ion chromatography offers an alternative to other analytical routes for hydrogen sulfide, which is useful for laboratories already equipped with that instrument.
