1 Scope

GB 48063 is the mandatory Chinese standard for the BeiDou positioning modules fitted to transport vehicles. Commercial vehicles, coaches and hazardous goods carriers in China are required to report their position continuously, and this module is the hardware that produces that position: if it drifts, loses fix in a tunnel and is slow to recover, or reports a stale reading as current, the supervision system that depends on it is fed bad data. The document sets the technical requirements such a module has to meet and the test methods that verify them, organised as basic, functional and performance requirements, environmental adaptability and reliability, each with its own test clause, and closes with the inspection rules that decide conformity. BeiDou is China's own satellite navigation system and its use is mandated rather than optional in regulated transport. Compliance is compulsory in China from 1 February 2027.
