Foreword

This Standard replaces the corresponding indexes of GB 13121-1991, Hygienic

Standard of Ceramics for Food Containers, GB 14147-1993, Permissible Limits of

Release of Lead or Cadmium from Ceramic Packaging Vessel in Contact with Food,

GB 8058-2003, Standard Permissible Limits and Testing Method for Release of Lead

or Cadmium from Ceramic Cookware, and GB/T 12651-2003, Permissible Limits of

Lead and Cadmium Release from Ceramic Ware in Contact with Food.

Compared with the above-mentioned standards, the main changes of this Standard

are as follows.

-- it changes the name of the standard into "National Food Safety Standard –

Ceramic Ware";

-- it modifies the description of Scope;

-- it increases Terms and Definitions;

-- it modifies Sensory Requirements;

-- it modifies Physicochemical Indexes;

-- it increases basic requirements for migration test, and modifies conditions for

migration test; and

-- it increases Designation.
