Foreword
The standard 3.2 and Chapter 4, are mandatory, the rest are recommended.
This standard is based on the IMO SOLAS Convention (1974) and the 1978 Protocol and relevant amendments to the LSA (LSA) rule, MSC resolution MSC. 81 (70) life-saving equipment testing and MSC. 200 (80) life-saving equipment testing amendment, MSC. 201 (81) amendments to SOLAS, MSC. 207 (81) the relevant requirements of the LSA Code amendments subject to revisions.
This standard replaces GB 4302-1984 "life preserver." this standard compared with GB 4302-1984, mainly for the following changes.
--- Canceled wrapper lifebuoy relevant content;
--- A new classification of the type of life buoy;
--- Canceled lifebuoy materials physical chemistry performance indicators;
--- Increasing the life preserver and attachments appearance, size, weight, materials and function test, and temperature cycling tests and drop tests conducted the modification;
--- Increased inspection rules, given the type test and factory inspection items, requirements and test methods for the table;
--- Cancel the closed cell foam test method used lifebuoy.
The standard proposed by China State Shipbuilding Corporation.
This standard by the National Standardization Technical Committee loaded ship outfitting.
This standard was drafted. Wuxi Xingtai ship equipment Ltd., Technical and Economic Research Institute of China Shipbuilding Industry.

4.5.5 Lifebuoy should be capable of supporting 14.5kg of iron in fresh water continuously float 24h.
4.5.6 Lifebuoy hanging in the free case, it should be able to withstand the weight of 90kg sustained 30min and permanent deformation without rupture.
4.5.7 For machines with self-activating smoke signal and a self-bright light floating buoy attached speed throwing device, shall be released to trigger the device.
4.6 Attachments
Life buoy can be equipped with attachments, including a buoyant lifeline, from bright lights floating or self-activating smoke signal.
5 Test methods
5.1 Appearance and attachments
Lifebuoy were visually inspect the appearance and attachment, the result should meet the requirements of 4.1 and 4.6.
5.2 Dimensions
With the general inspection lifebuoy measuring the size, the results should meet the requirements of 4.2.
5.3 wt.
Check the weight of the lifebuoy by weighing method, the results shall comply with the requirements of 4.3.
5.4 Material
The lifebuoy ring longitudinally cut, the material inspection results should meet the requirements of 4.4.
5.5 High temperature cycling
Lifebuoy experience the following temperature cycling process.
a) The lifebuoy into the room temperature, not lower than 65 °C high temperature environment, the sustained 8h;
b) after 8h, at normal temperature of 20 °C ± 3 °C left open 24h;
c) then placed in a cold room lifebuoy, not higher than -30 °C low temperature environment, the sustained 8h;
d) after 8h, at normal temperature of 20 °C ± 3 °C left open 24h;
e) is repeatedly performed a) ~ d) 10 cycles.
After the inspection test results should meet the requirements of 4.5.1.
5.6 Drop
In the ship in the lightest seagoing draft status, whichever is greater between life buoy stock height on a ship or offshore and 30m height, Lifebuoy in the throw overboard. Then, to the lifebuoy from 2m height fell to the concrete floor vote, repeated three times. Results should conform to 4.5.2 Claim.
5.7 Oil
5.5, 5.6 will go through life buoy tested at room temperature immersed 100mm horizontal ram diesel 24h, the results should be consistent with 4.5.3 Requirements.
5.8 Refractory
The test pots 30cm × 35cm × 6cm placed no wind, the test pots implantation depth of 1cm of water, and then injected into the gasoline, Pot liquid to total depth of not less than 4cm. Ignite gasoline, free burning 30s, and then an 5.5, 5.6 but not subjected to the test to save oil Green circle free lift, and the bottom of the basin above the top edge of the test 25cm, the life buoy upright to move forward through the flames, fire time is 2s. Results should meet Meets the requirement of 4.5.4.
5.9 Floating
The lifebuoy 5.5 to 5.8 after the tests were accompanied by no less than 14.5kg of iron to float in fresh water 24h, results shall comply with the requirements of 4.5.5.
5.10 Strength
Tape with a width of 50mm to a lifebuoy lift, then the weight of 90kg objects with the same tape the other suspended Hanging on its lower side, sustained 30min. After the inspection test results should meet the requirements of 4.5.6.
Utility 5.11
The Floating Light and bright with self and self-activating smoke signal driving the analog station or offshore facility from the release position to release the ship, the result should Comply with the provisions of 4.5.7.
6 Inspection rules
6.1 Inspection classification
Lifebuoys inspection is divided into type test and factory inspection.
6.2 Type inspection
6.2.1 Lifebuoy one of the following conditions, type of inspection should be carried out.
a) identification of new products (shape);
There are significant changes b) structure, materials, processes, etc., enough to affect product performance or quality;
c) After every mass 4a;
d) Product Discontinuance 2a above, to resume production;
e) when the competent authorities have inspection requirements.

6.3 factory inspection
6.3.1 Lifebuoy factory inspection items and the order in Table 1.
6.3.2 Lifebuoy appearance, attachments, dimensions and weight should be individually examined; the other requirements shall be sampling. The same process, even the same material Continued production batch of lifebuoys should not more than 2000, the number of samples taken 2% volume, when two when the number of samples is insufficient, it should take two.
6.3.3 All lifebuoys factory inspection project to meet the requirements, it is determined lifebuoy factory inspection. If one does not meet the requirements, may be doubled sampling retest, as to meet the requirements, it is still determined lifebuoy factory inspection; Ruofu experiments still do not meet the requirements of the project, the Lifebuoy factory batch determination test failed.
7 signs, packaging and storage
7.1 Each lifebuoy shall be marked on its name, manufacturer name, manufacturer's serial number, date of manufacture and lot number, inspection agency inspection mark.
7.2 The product should be taken not to lifebuoy ring deformed body, it should not be damaged in transit.
