Scope
GB 38383-2019 is the English-translated version of 洗碗机能效水效限定值及等级.
GB 38383-2019 specifies the minimum allowable values of energy efficiency and water efficiency, the energy efficiency and water efficiency grades, and the corresponding test methods for household and similar electrical dishwashers using hot and/or cold water; commercial dishwashers are excluded.
Energy and water efficiency are each rated in 5 grades, grade 1 being the best: Table 1 sets the energy efficiency index (from <= 50 at grade 1 to <= 80 at grade 5), the water efficiency index (<= 45 to <= 75) and the drying index (>= 1.08 to >= 0.86), with a cleaning index of at least 1.12 at every grade, and the grade 5 values are the minimum allowable values a dishwasher must meet.
Measured energy and water consumption per cycle may exceed declared values by no more than 10%, and cleaning and drying indices may fall short by no more than 10% and 19%.
Testing follows GB/T 20290-2016 with detergent B at (23 ± 2) °C, (55 ± 5)% relative humidity and water hardness of (2.5 ± 0.5) mmol/L; indices for machines of 6 place settings or more are calculated to QB/T 1520-2013, while smaller machines use formulas for standard annual energy consumption (SAEc = 11.5 × ps + 230) and standard water consumption (SWC = 1.6 × ps + 11), and annexes detail the soils (milk, tea, minced meat, egg, oat flakes, spinach, margarine), how the tableware is soiled, the standard tableware and the rating tables.
