Scope
GB 29435-2012 is the English-translated version of 稀土冶炼加工企业单位产品能源消耗限额.
GB 29435-2012 sets the limits of energy consumption per unit product for rare earth smelting and processing enterprises, covering rare earth compounds, metals and alloys, phosphors and polishing powders; it is used to calculate and assess production energy consumption, and does not apply to products from the recovery of rare earth scrap.
For 29 products - single rare earth oxides from lanthanum to lutetium and yttrium, phosphor-grade yttrium europium oxide, praseodymium-neodymium oxide, lamp tri-band phosphors (red, green, blue), single rare earth metals, praseodymium-neodymium, gadolinium-iron and dysprosium-iron alloys, mischmetal and polishing powder - it gives three sets of comprehensive energy consumption values in tce/t: limit values for existing enterprises (for example <= 2.54 for lanthanum oxide), stricter access values for new enterprises (<= 2.31) and advanced values (<= 2.19).
It defines which energy is counted, how purchased, secondary and recovered energy and working media are converted to standard coal, and gives formulas for unit object, unit and comprehensive energy consumption of a procedure, together with the calculation boundary for each product family, followed by requirements on energy conservation management and measures.
Clauses 4.1 and 4.2 are mandatory, the rest recommended. It is the first edition, issued on 31 December 2012 and in force since 1 October 2013. Classification: ICS 27.010, CCS F01. The document runs to 11 pages, delivered complete in English translation.
