Scope
GB 25936.2-2012 is the English-translated version of 橡胶塑料粉碎机械 第2部分:拉条式切粒机安全要求.
GB 25936.2-2012 is the second part of the GB 25936 series on rubber and plastics size reduction machines, and it deals with strand pelletisers. It sets out the basic safety requirements that govern the design and the manufacture of these machines, which cut extruded strands of rubber or plastics into regular pellets. The part applies to strand pelletisers fed continuously from a reactor or from an extruder. Its boundary is drawn on the machine itself: coverage starts at the feed opening of the feeding device, or at the starting device where one is fitted, and ends at the discharge area. Clause 2 draws on a wide body of referenced standards - acoustics standards for determining sound power levels and emission sound pressure levels at work stations, the GB 3836 series on equipment for explosive atmospheres, enclosure protection and the electrical equipment of machines, and machinery safety standards on guards, interlocking devices, emergency stop, safety-related parts of control systems, prevention of unexpected start-up, touchable surface temperature and safety distances for the limbs. Clause 3 adopts the terminology of GB/T 15706.1 and adds its own definition of the strand pelletiser. Published on 9 March 2012, it took effect on 1 January 2013.

1 Scope
This part of GB 25936 lays down the basic safety requirements for the design and the manufacture of strand pelletisers used to process rubber and plastics.
It applies to strand pelletisers used to pelletise rubber and plastics material fed continuously from a reactor or from an extruder.
The machine covered by this part begins at the feed opening of the feeding device of the strand pelletiser - or, where a starting device is fitted, at that starting device - and ends at the discharge area.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 15706.1 and the following apply.
3.1 strand pelletiser: a machine that cuts strand-shaped rubber or plastics material into regular pellets inside its cutting chamber. The printed definition then continues on the subject of adjusting the rotating cutter and the feed roll, but the sentence runs past the foot of the last page available in the scan and the remainder was not read.
