Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1:1-2009: This standard replaces GB 17577-2009 "The People's Republic of China Navigational Warning Standard Format", compared with GB 17577-2009, except for The main technical changes outside of the editorial modification are as follows:

---Added the contact information of the drafter (see 3:1, 3:2 and 3:3:9);

--- Deleted the requirements for the delivery method (see 3:2 and 3:3:8 of the:2009 edition);

---Relevant requirements of the review process have been deleted (see 3:3:9 of the:2009 edition);

---Added the abbreviation and identification code of Lianyungang Maritime Safety Administration (see 4:2:2);

--- Modified the format of the sequence number (see 4:2:3, 4:2:3 of the:2009 edition);

--- Amend "Aquatic Operations" to "Aquatic and Underwater Activities", and "Bulky Towing" to "Towing" (see 4:4:3, 6:1 and 6:4, 4:4:3, 6:1 and 6:4 of the:2009 edition);

---Modified the representation method of the location (see 4:4:4:2, 4:4:4:2 of the:2009 edition);

---Relevant requirements for "publishing unit" have been revised (see 4:5, 4:5 of the:2009 edition);

---Added the main body of commonly used navigation warnings and their Chinese and English expressions (see 6:2:3 and Appendix A);

---Added relevant requirements for dangerous obstructions (see Table 7);

--- Added the interpretation of towing (see 6:4:2);

---Added the words and sentence patterns of navigational warning messages for "large-scale mass activities and sports competitions" (see 6:4:3);

1 Scope

GB 17577-2020 is the Chinese national standard on the standard format of navigational warnings in people's republic of china, in the field of services and company organization. It carries no /T suffix, which in the Chinese system means compliance is mandatory: a product or a practice within its scope has to meet it to be lawfully made, sold or carried out in China. It was issued on 17 November 2020 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 June 2021.
