1 Scope

This standard stipulates the basic methods, steps, and principles for handwriting signature comparison in the identification of forensic science handwriting.

This standard applies to handwriting identification in forensic science.

3 Handwriting selection

3.1 The choice of handwriting should be comprehensive and representative, in order to fully demonstrate the similarities and differences between the sample material and handwriting characteristics.

3.2 Repeatedly appearing words can be selected in whole or in part, and the selected quantity is based on the principle of reflecting the stability and regularity of handwriting characteristics.

3.3 Words with diverse features, such as multiple writing styles and multiple stroke styles, should be selected as representative words.

3.4 For samples with a small number of characters such as signature handwriting, all inspection-related handwriting on the sample shall be arranged on the comparison table.

3.5 The comparison of handwriting characteristics is based on the same type of words, and the words of the same word, the same side or the same stroke should be selected and arranged as much as possible.

4 Handwriting copy

4.1 Copy writing should faithfully present the original writing.

4.2 The manual copying should be similar to the original handwriting as much as possible, focusing on basic fonts and handwriting characteristics.
